Hi I am Gary and thanks for reading my page. This September I will undertake to ride a 5 day gruelling cycle around the Highlands and in the process climb the height of Everest, some 29,500 feet.
This event will be undertaken by a team of 26 riders and thanks to generous support from this team will be a zero cost event. Every penny raised therefore will go towards the Highland Hospice, an organisation that has helped family and friends at their darkest times. They do this with great grace and to carry on they require over £3.8 million pound every year to provide this pan-Highland service.
Please follow my progress as I train (yeah a lot of that is required), prepare for the event and undertake further fund-raising. It is my intention to use all my skills and contacts to meet our target so look out for activities that may interest you and raise funds and awareness at the same time.
If you have an idea on how to use me to raise money and assist along the way do drop me a line. Maybe you want a family or business portrait (using my photography skills), or a tutored wine tasting (with sales to Hospice) or whatever – if it’s decent and legal I will consider it!
